Orca Blog problems

Mar 13, 2004

Have you been having problems with your Orca Blog installation? A couple people have reported problems with acquiring the main post form so I took a look at the code and fixed a couple things to make sure it displays when it's supposed to.

If you've downloaded the Blog recently only to find it didn't work, I recommend downloading the new code and seeing if that fixes the problem.

Sorry for any inconvenience this caused anyone.

What a week : getimagesize with URIs Minor facelift: Knowledgebase released!

    Hi
Thank for the effort you put into the Orca programs!
    Much apreciated.

I had a similar problem. It wouldn't let me make a new post (thread) after the first one??
I hacked around it by changing the A tag href in ob_body.php from #ob_post to ?Entry, and setting the code to "".
If someone knows of a better fix I'd be happy to hear it.

    Thanks

Heh, there's no need for a hack. If you want to post another thread, you just type your blogpage URI in the addressbar followed by ?Entry (or whatever your blog code is). There shouldn't be a link to this page from the publically viewable blog page. I recommend bookmarking this page for your own use.

If you want a messageboard where anyone can post, I recommend using the Orca Forum instead which doesn't use this system of passwords.

Oop's My mistake, Thanks for the QUICK reply though.

What is the "post new" link supposed to do?
On my blog all it does is add #ob_post to whatever is in the address bar and refresh the page.

    btw what does blog mean??

Heh, oops for me too! That link shouldn't appear there anymore. I removed it along the line somewhere, but I guess it found it's way back in when I cut and pasted some old code. I'll remove it and post a new zip file shortly.

Blog is short of "weblog" which originally started as just the statistics of a site, then became a sort of diary, and now they are taken to be online journals.
