The Ride and other things
Aug 6, 2005Well, I've wanted them for a while now, but I went out on a whim today and got a new set of rims and tires for my car. When I bought my car last winter, it was a plain, used 1992 Prelude, and I wanted to keep it pretty much stock. The only things I wanted to do to it from day one were: a) get a new sound system, and b) get some nice rims.
Now I've done both and it looks pretty sweet after a nice wash'n'wax 
I posted some long overdue upgrades for the Forum and Blog scripts on Thursday. I made these changes a long time ago already but they didn't seem big enough to warrant me going through the update process. But then I decided to wrap up the language files for those scripts much like I've done with the Ringmaker, and to do that, I needed to post the updated code anyway.
I should be posting a third beta of the search script soon. Some spider tweaks and addition of robots.txt compatibility are two of the major changes. Lots of other little changes are in also, too many to document.
In other news, I spent all day Friday working on something I've never done before. I made a batch file which creates an installer executable and uploads it via FTP. I was pretty proud of myself, seeing as it's completely automated and I learned how it all worked as I was making it. The purpose of the whole thing is to upload a daily database dump for one of our remote offices; a temporary measure until we can get a secure link going so we can share directly.
